In some countries, such as Greece or Spain, the siesta is part of their traditional rituals. Those long minutes of rest after eating (which can become even hours) are for many people, one of the best moments of the day. It was always said that napping at noon regenerates energy, strengthens the mind and increases productivity. This is a real antidote to face the hard hours of work in the afternoon. The residents of this town of Ador, in the province of Valencia in Spain, have taken the benefits of napping very seriously. Oddly enough, the last municipal order includes it. Joan Faus, Ador mayor says that with that they can “ensure the rest of all and better face the harsh summer.” In this small town of 1,400 inhabitants, it is typical to cultivate oranges, and in times of sun and intense heat is when there is more work. - It must be necessary: our body does not need a nap every day or anywhere. Listen to your own body so you can deduce when you need it.
- It is important to sleep in a comfortable place and in proper context. Sleeping on a table, on the computer keyboard in an uncomfortable chair … It will not help us to rest and also it is going to cause pain in muscles and joints.
- It is recommended not to spend more than 30 minutes napping. Thus, we will not have problems falling asleep at night.
